Siddie & Tom – Resident Profile

“We go to the theater and music – the Seattle Men’s Chorus, the Northwest Symphony, the Rainier Symphony…fun stuff.”

Siddie and Tom: an artful move

For Siddie and Tom, moving to Bow Lake 10 years ago meant they could finally free themselves from trying to keep up with a big house. “We had a huge yard, a half an acre and lots of rockery and flower beds. It got to be too much, we didn’t want to do it anymore”.

While they considered moving to a condo, Siddie felt like there were too many drawbacks. “The problem is that you only see people when you are in the hall. And there are no gardens, no trees. I have to have at least a little dirt!”

Siddie and Tom really take advantage of the surrounding areas like Des Moines and Tukwila, especially when it comes to food. Siddie says, “We are heavy duty restaurant users. We go to lunch, or dinner.” To this, Tom adds, “Or both!”

They also now indulge their passion for the arts. “We go to the theater and music – the Seattle Men’s Chorus, the Northwest Symphony, the Rainier Symphony…fun stuff!”

Though Siddie still likes to do a little yard work, she appreciates the effort the grounds crew puts into the public spaces. “There are at least three people keeping the lawns all done, they put in flowers every spring, they have street sweepers, and the park place around the lake is really nice too.”
